While auto insurance coverage requirements vary by state, almost every state requires some form of liability insurance. It’s the law. What’s more, the right auto insurance coverage can help protect you and your loved ones financially in the event of an accident, theft, or other covered loss.
Regardless of your insurance history. No matter the circumstances, we has always worked alongside drivers to determine the best policy for your needs, and we’re ready to help you, too.
Get to know our car insurance coverages below and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. Friendly agents are standing by to walk you through the ins and outs of auto insurance! Read on to learn about the different types of coverages we offer?
LIABILITY/BASIC: Liability insurance is one of the most basic type of car insurance. You might hear other drivers refer to this family of coverage as “liability only” or “minimum auto insurance.” It generally includes Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability coverages. If you cause an accident, these coverages help pay for the other driver’s medical expenses and property damage (but not yours).
COMP & COLLISION: Comprehensive and Collision are usually purchased together. Comprehensive (also referred to as “Other than Collision Coverage”) helps pay for damages to your car if it’s stolen or damaged in an event other than a collision, like a storm or contact with an animal. Collision will pay for your car to be repaired or replaced if it hits another object or is hit by a “hit and run” driver. There’s a good chance you’ll be required to carry Comprehensive and Collision coverage if your car is leased or financed.
MEDICAL PAYMENTS: Medical Payments is an optional coverage that will help pay for medical, hospital, and funeral expenses in the event of an auto accident, no matter who is at fault.
UNINSURED MOTORIST: Uninsured Motorist Coverage, or UM Coverage, will help pay for your expenses if you’re injured in a car accident and the at-fault driver can’t be identified, doesn’t have liability insurance, or doesn’t have enough liability insurance to cover your claim. In some states, Uninsured Motorist Coverage applies only for bodily injuries, in others it is available for property damage as well. In certain states coverage for an “underinsured motorist” (where the at-fault driver has liability insurance but it is not sufficient to cover your damages) is sold as a separate coverage.
RENTAL REIMBURSEMENT: Rental cars aren’t always cheap. Rental Reimbursement will help reimburse you for the cost of a rental car if your vehicle can’t be driven after an auto accident or other covered loss.
TOWING: If your car breaks down or can’t be driven after an accident, Towing Coverage can help cover or reimburse you for emergency towing costs (up to the limit selected).
